Dick Eastman to be featured speaker on Legacy Cruise to Hawaii

Our upcoming Legacy Cruise to Hawaii just got better - irresistible perhaps. One of genealogy's biggest names will be our featured speaker - Dick Eastman!

Dick is the author of Eastman's Online Genealogy Newsletter, the leading newsletter for genealogy news and technology tips. For some 30+ years, he has been honing his vision of the future to improve our picture of the past. In the mid-1980s, Dick went knocking on the door of a rising internet star called CompuServe to propose a genealogy forum: a move by which he built a community of family historians over the next 14 years. At the same time, he preached the benefits of technology to an even wider audience of genealogists, including national and international genealogical organizations, and of course, GENTECH, an organization that helped him to spread his message.

Through his newsletter, Dick shares technology "finds" that can help both new and seasoned genealogists, as well as dethroning the scams and shams that can lead the unwary astray.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. I'm single and want to go on the cruise?
A. No problem, just let us know as we have others just like you and we can assign you to others (same gender) to share a room with.  This is a great way to meet new friends.

Q. What is the travel insurance and do I need it?
A. I don't usually get it but I'm a risk taker.  If you are concerned that your health could cause you to miss the cruise then we highly recommend it.  It's $169 each person. Here is a link for more information about cancelations.

Q. Tell me about Carnival's Spirit cruise ship?
A. You can take a virtual tour of the Spirit at Carnivals web site.  Click here

Q. What's the most fun thing to do?
A. That's up to you. You can do as little or as much as you like. On Carnival, they make sure their ships have everyone's kind of fun.  It's what makes their fleet of floating resorts such popular vacation destinations.

Q. What can we do when we reach each port?
A. You name it and it's probably available.  Activities that make the whole trip worth it.
Just click a port to learn about all of the Shore Excursions available from Carnival's site:

Our Legacy Cruise Coordinator

Christy of Travelworks International is handling all of the details.

So, who is Christy?  Well, Ken McGinnis says; "Christy is my sister and you will just love her!  Going on a cruise will be fun but if you are going on a cruise with Christy then get ready for the best vacation of your life.  I'm not exaggerating here.  Christy just has a way of making things so much fun".

Christy has put together several cruises of large groups and always does such a great job.  She organized our past Legacy cruises and I think everyone just loved her and all she did to make the cruse a huge success.

Her contact information is Christy of Travelworks International at 1-888-505-6997 or 1-623-444-8918 or send her an e-mail at

Christy says;  "My family has personally gone on the Spirit and it was a fantastic ship.  A wonderful experience.  Top notch and first class all the way. You won't be disappointed.".  So, if you have questions don't hesitate to ask her as she will have the answers for you.  Just be warned that if you talk to her you will probably have troubles sleeping that night because of the excitement.
