We are saddened to learn of the passing of a fellow genealogist, webinar presenter, and friend. Judith Eccles Wight passed away yesterday, September 23, 2020.
Judy was the first to teach our webinar audience about researching our ancestors in Ireland and is the author of our Legacy QuickGuide on Irish Genealogy. She was kind, eager to help, and a very good educator.
In her honor, we are unlocking her 8 webinars from the members-only area for the rest of the month.
Her FindaGrave memorial is 217025891. Leave her some flowers!
We will always miss your kindness and knowledge. Thanks to Legacy for opening her lectures. I hope to go over each one to glean more info on my Irish families.
Our Hearts and Prayers are with the Family during this difficult time.
May God Bless Each and Everyone of You and Hold you in His Loving Arms Always.
ASAP–Always Say A Prayer.
She set a high standard!
So sorry to hear of her passing. We are sending our prayers to her family.
Thank you for opening up Judith’s Irish webinars. It’s good to realize that research into my Irish second great-grandmother (an Irish Famine immirant) may not be as hopeless as I always assumed. Thank you, Judith.
Judith researched two of my family lines and found out so much we didn’t know She was truly an angel!
Vale Judy Wight,
She was generous with her help when I led a study group to Salt Lake City in 1990. Her son Tim at the time was serving in Australia and by coincidence I had met him on a railway station.
I will remember Judy with much affection.
Wendy Baker,
Melbourne, Australia.
So sorry to hear of her passing. She looked so young. My condolences to all that worked with her.
Thanks for allowing us to review the webinars. This will give me a jump start on my husband’s family, since I haven’t got much information and both of his parents are passed.
Judith Eccles Wight was a talented teacher and researcher deluxe. I appreciate her kindness and sweetness in assisting me in my research. A leader is gone.
In the early days of Legacy’s webinars, Judith was one of my favorites as I was just beginning my Irish research. Her information was helpful, always. I look forward to reviewing those webinars. Thank you, Legacy. So sorry to lose one our best.
DL McGowan
I hope to take advantage of this opportunity, that you.
