Legacy Family Tree is a Windows program. The minimum system requirements are:
Pentium class computer.
VGA or higher display.
Windows 11, Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7 (Legacy runs on newer Macs with Windows installed under Bootcamp, Parallel or Fusion. Legacy runs on Linux machines with a Windows emulator like VMWare or Sun's Virtual Box). Note: Runs on both 32bit and 64bit Windows platforms.
A Hard Drive with room for at least 500 megabytes of available space.
8 GB of RAM minimum.
A mouse.
Internet connection recommended (Internet connection recommended, and required to access some features such as Searching the Internet, Hints, FamilySearch tools, and Research Guidance links.)
MACs: Currently there is no version of Legacy for a MAC. Legacy runs on newer Macs under Crossover. Please visit https://www.codeweavers.com for the details. Legacy also runs on newer Macs with Windows installed under Bootcamp, Parallels or Fusion.
LINUX: Currently there is no version of Legacy for a Ubuntu/Linux. This is something we may consider for the future. In the meantime, Legacy runs on Ubuntu/Linux with Cross Over software or VMWare or Sun's Virtual Box installed.
