The long-anticipated Legacy 7.5 update is here! This update adds additional New FamilySearch support (for those with a new.familysearch.org LDS account) and includes several minor bug fixes that you have reported.
We'll write a lot more about this update soon (but I wanted to be sure to announce this on the day of our announced deadline – it's now way past my bedtime).

Hi,
At about 11:45 PM we went live on our site with the release of Legacy 7.5. As you all know Legacy 7.4 was released with partial integration and we have been working hard on making things really cool. We are proud of what we have done and think the world is going to benefit from all of the hard work that both we have done and the work that FamilySearch has been doing. This is going to be a great year for all genealogist.
Legacy 7.5 has been in the works for a long time and it’s going to be a great release. We know that to some of you it may not make much of a difference right now because FamilySearch is still limited to only members of the LDS Church. But WAIT!!! Before you think that’s not fair listen to some of our thoughts on it. FamilySearch is doing some tremendous things like Digitizing millions of records and Indexing them also. The integration to FamilySearch that we have added to Legacy 7.5 is going to link families from around the world. The work that FamilySearch is doing is Awesome and Legacy’s integration is going to give everyone the power to publish your families and to collaborate with others on your research. Yes, right now it’s limited to members of the LDS Church as they work out problems and and build up their server farms so they can handle the heavy traffic they will have once FamilySearch is released/opened to the world. Several years ago when they released FamilySearch to everyone it was a long time before they could get everything worked out to handle the heavy traffic. They were more than surprised at how many people were using their site. We think they are doing it right this time by making sure they are prepared and we hope that in the near future they will be able to open up all the cool new things they are working on so everyone can enjoy them. We thought it was going to be released to the world before by end of 2010 but their schedule has slipped a little (I’m glad we never miss deadlines). There are lot’s of rumors on when, but there is no way to know for sure how long it’s going to be. Believe me, they are very anxious to open it up to everyone and they will as soon as they feel they have things ready. So, please be patient just a little longer and we’ll continue to work hard on making Legacy even better for everyone.
For those of you who are LDS you are going to love what we have done!
