Webinar will not start / Screen is black

Updated over 3 months ago

A few of our Webinar viewers have reported problems. Most of them were able to view the Webinars when they used a different web browser. For example, if they could not view a Webinar with Google Chrome, they could view it when the switched to Firefox or Internet Explorer. In addition, if you cannot view the Webinar from the Home tab in Legacy, try closing Legacy and watch the Webinar directly using your regular web browser.

What equipment do I need to view a live webinar?

  1. Computer with high-speed Internet and speakers.

  2. If you want to ask a question verbally during the webinar, we recommend that you use a USB-powered headset, like the Microsoft LifeChat LX-3000.

  3. Make sure your computer has the latest Windows updates.

If you have a slow internet connection, then anything "streaming" to your computer will be choppy. Are you on dial-up, which is too slow to play the Webinars?

Webinar will not play:

• Right click on the video and select "settings." This will open the Flash Player settings. On the display tab (default first window) uncheck the box that reads "Enable hardware acceleration." Restart the browser and try playing the video.

• We are unable to connect to the content you've requested. We apologize for the inconvenience. Sometimes there may be temporary Internet problems. What you cannot view today, you may be able to view tomorrow.

• The links to the handouts are at the bottom of the screen when the video starts.
