Missouri Death Certificates, 1910-1955, now online

In a time when closing public access to vital records seems to be the trend, it is good to see states like Missouri provide better access. Access to Missouri death certificates from 1910-1955 is now available online. The database was made possible by the work of over 600 volunteers who logged over 27,000 hours.

To access the new database, visit http://www.sos.mo.gov/archives/resources/deathcertificates/

Wow — The MO death index is fabulous. Found a grandfather and several others to request. agree this would be wonderful for other states — any possibility for TN?

Great news! I found two great grandfathers and a great grandmother! Thank you so much for posting this info! I hope other states follow Missouri’s lead.

Your program directed me to on line death records for Missiouri. I found a copy of one of my ancestors brothers. Exciting! I too wish more states would offer the same.

When will the states of Virginia and West Virginia have the death certificates on line for use?

Hurray! Hurray! I could use earlier ones but I will take what they give. Wished more States did the same.
