Legacy Family Tree update available (7.4.0.45)

We have a great new update for you, although most of the improvements and fixes are pretty minor. As you can see in the release notes (in the what's been fixed section below), we've done a lot of work and fine-tuning with the relationship calculator (Tools > Set Relationships or Tools > Relationship Calculator). It didn't find any new relationships between my wife and I (we're still 13th cousins, and 13th cousins once removed) but with the new option, we're now able to use the term "great-aunt" instead of "grand-aunt" if desired.

See the download instructions below for step-by-step instructions on installing this update.

What's New

  • Relationship Report – Added option to include lifespan years after the names.
  • Search and replace – When performing a Search and Replace you can now enter a TAB character or a CRLF by using these special representations «tab» and «crlf».
  • Relationships (Tools > Set Relationships) – added an option to use "Great" or "Grand" for uncles/aunts, nephews/nieces at 2+ generations.
  • Relationship Report – new format for step-relationships.
  • Timelines – updated the "England – British Prime Ministers from 1721" timeline

Hi, just wanted to say got the Legacy program last fall, and love it!!
I found it does way more things, than the other guys…
I have used or tried just about every program out ther for genealogy.
I used one program that says it was the best, it said it could do certain things, so I used a small part of my file and tried what it said it could do.. It ate my data, killed my sources. (thank goodness, for my backups)
All I thought was there has to be something, that actually does what it says its going to do.. (and does not eat your work)
I found Legacy and now my hunt is over, it does everything it says its going to do and more. So, I bought it.. the program it the best!!
Keep up the good work !!

For those of you that prefer to use a mac or who have friends that can’t use Legacy because they use the mac there is now some good news. This version has been successfully loaded onto an imac running Snow Leopard os 10.6 using the Wine windows emulator version 1.1.44. It appears to work perfectly. The only requirement needed is to change the default path for the web browser to look for internet explorer within the Wine set up.
