9.1 Main Windows Colors (gbl)
There is too much information on how to change your color scheme to put in this article but there are a few things that I want to point out. You can also get to the Set Color Scheme dialog box by going to Options > Change Colors on the main toolbar. Either way, this is what you will see:
The first option in this box will bring you to the same dialog box as in Option 9.2 (next one down) so we will save that for now. The second option allows you to choose one of Legacy's default color schemes which you can use as is or you can customize it. The main thing that you need to know when you see this dialog box on your screen is that you need to click on the Legacy screen itself to change any colors. For example, if you are on the Family View and you click the background you will then be able to change that. If you click on one of the labels you will be able to change that. Just click around the screen and you will get all kinds of popup boxes to change the colors. Also, You need to make sure that you switch between the different views (Family, Pedigree, etc.) because these have their own colors.
9.2 Other User-Interface Colors (gbl)
This option will bring up the same dialog box as if you have clicked on the first option in the pink box above. This is what it looks like:
There are options right on this dialog box but also notice there are three tabs of options. The options here are pretty self-explanatory. Play around with them to see what sort of colors and styles you like.
9.3 Reset All Colors to Their Default Settings (gbl)
Sometimes you will look at your color scheme and decide it would just be easier to start over from scratch. That is what the option will do for you. It resets everything back to the defaults.
9.4 Save and Load Customized Color Schemes (gbl)
This one is important. After you have spend a lot of time getting everything looking the way you want you will want to save the color scheme so that you can retrive it later. You can create as many color schemes as you want and them flip back and forth to reflect your current mood.
Next time we will look at Options > Customize > 10.0 Fonts
