There is a new feature in Legacy FamilySearch that you are going to love! To see it, open the Legacy FamilySearch interface and click the Sources tab.
On the left you will see all of your sources listed, not just the ones that are attached to the vital events. In this screenshot I have scrolled down so that you can see all of the custom events this man has and the sources attached to them.
Here is where it gets even better. Click on one of the source arrows on the FamilySearch side of the screen (right side) to move it to Legacy.
You can now copy the source to ANY event you have entered for that person! You are no longer limited to the vital events.
This new feature was included in the update released on 22 January 2020. The developer snuck this one in without telling me so this was not included in the Release Notes. If you haven't updated yet, click the Legacy Home tab within the Legacy program itself and you will see the update on the right (if you are a Legacy Deluxe user). If you are using the free Standard version then you can update HERE.
If you need instructions on how to use the FamilySearch interface please read FamilySearch Training.

This isn’t something that you could add to Legacy per se. This is very specific to FamilySearch. FamilySearch’s Family Tree is a collaborative tree. The more thoroughly you have your information sourced the less chance that somebody is going to change the information. No one can ever change the information you have in Legacy on your hard drive. I am a huge supporter of the Family Tree but I also know to work within its limitations.
