• The reference book now comes as a PDF file. You can refer to it on your computer or if you would rather have a hard copy, you can take the PDF file to any printer (including places like Office Depot, Office Max, and Staples) and have it printed and bound for a reasonable price.

• I have enough trouble with e-mail let alone Facebook & Twitter.
  My original Legacy came with a book I could reference for instructions on including pictures with my people but the new version s have no reference book.
  why not?
  Staying confused with my family tree…….

• Thank you Michele, I would like to receive a pdf by email of links to Tuesday’s Tips.
  I do have Facebook, but don’t have the patience to look at it ‘just in case’ there’s something of interest.
  I tried finding a list via Tuesday’s Tips in Categories, but did not succeed.

• Can I select a photo and then tag the people in the photo, instead of first selecting the person and then locating the photo?

• Robert,
  There are a couple of things you can do. If this is a family group (father, mother, children) you can add it to the marriage of the parents. I would add it as a marriage event so that you can include it in reports.
  You can copy the group shot and then in any editing program draw a small arrow to the person in question. Do this for each person and then attach the correct photo to each person. Some people like to circle the person’s face but I think it detracts from the photo. I would rather put in a small unobtrusive arrow.

• Michele, I have several family group photos that I would like to include in my Legacy file.
  Dropping a group photo in front of the photo of one of the members of the group doesn’t make sense. Even somehow dropping the group photo behind one in the group would be about as bad.
  Is there some way to identify a [sub-family] including the people in the group photo and dropping the group photo into that identity?

• Mary,
  All of your photos and documents should be in a single folder. Subfolders within that main folder is perfectly fine. You do not have to use the default Legacy folder, but if you don’t, you need to go to Options > Customize > Locations and in Option 6.2 put the location of your main (top) folder of you will get an annoying message every time you try to link to a photo or document. Notice that this option is (ff) or file specific. That means you can keep the media for different files in different folders and Legacy will be just fine with it as long as you tell Legacy all of this.
  I keep mine in the default location (with subfolders) but those people with a deep system of folders and/or long file names will probably want to put a folder right on the C drive ( C:\Media) so that you don’t press your luck with the Windows imposed limit on the number of characters in a file path.

  No, each person is being linked to the same photo. There will only be one copy.

• A photo related question: Is it better to link to a photo on your hard drive or to save it in the Media file of Legacy?

• Michele, I really appreciate your Tuesday Tips. I have saved a collection of them, and even when I have a period when I’m unable to use Legacy, they help keep me in touch. And having Permalinks is very helpful.
  My question is:
  Is there a way to search for earlier Tuesday Tips, for example by key word, when I’m needing guidance which I vaguely remember you may have addressed in the past?

• When I copy & paste a photo with multiple family members to each persons media page is that photo duplicated in the jpg file that they have originally been copied from?
