If you have the current version of Legacy:
Close Legacy.
Update your Legacy program.
LEGACY: https://legacyfamilytree.com/download-update
Previous version of Legacy: Click HereBrowse on your computer to Documents>Legacy Family Tree>_AppData>USR and delete the entire USR folder.
Try reducing the size of your family file by compacting it (click on File and select File Maintenance > Compact Family File and click Proceed.
Next run File Maintenance to fix any problems in the family file (click on File and select File Maintenance > Check/Repair and proceed as prompted by the screens).
If error 6 occurs when you navigate to someone in the family view and your screen resolution is above 1920x1080, try changing the resolution on your computer from the current resolution to 1920x1080.
If error 6 happened while creating a report, chart or Web pages, do the following:
Click the Reset button in the lower right corner of the main report window or the Web Page Creation and confirm the reset.
Reselect your report, chart or Web pages options as needed.
After you have done these steps, please try creating the report, chart or web pages again.
Legacy should be free of error 6.
If error 6 happened while creating a report, chart or Web pages, try these steps:
Click the Reset button in the lower right corner of the main report window or the Web Page Creation and confirm the reset.
Reselect your report, chart or Web pages options as needed.
After you have done these steps, please try creating the report, chart or web pages again.
